Description
HARSHADA KOLAPKAR
Artist Harshada Kolapkar completed post graduation in fine arts in the year 1999 and have been working in the field of art since then for 20 years now. She got the opportunity to participate in many national and international competitions and workshops; winning awards and accolades. She has had her work displayed at many art galleries across India.
Initially, her work was inclined towards realism and realistic subjects because of her love for nature.
In the latter period as her experiences grew, she did many experimental explorations in terms of compositions on many contemporary subjects. During her solo exhibition at Jehangir Art Gallery, she exhibited a series on the subject ‘fish sellers,’ in Mumbai- which was very well received.
Love for nature has been reflected from the beginning because of her native roots being ‘Konkan.’
Man has always been curious about nature and so she has symbolically portrayed woman, man and nature in it. developing her own style depicting experience through anthropomorphism, composition and colour.
Her ‘discomfort’ while living and drawing such an experience increases her enthusiasm for painting. It takes a pure experience through that process. “A picture ends, a new picture happens again.” And she can just witness this!
