Description
Sachin Jaltare initially did more figurative paintings and the moved to abstract and semi-abstract work. His art may be seen as a manifestation of the wild tango of Shiva and Shakti, dancing as it does between form and formlessness, energy and desire, the mortal and the divine. His mixed media works combine figurative and abstract elements seamlessly. Without too much detailing they convey the emotion very successfully. Adhering mostly to monochromes, the subjects are enigmatic and capttivating. Traditional motifs and symbols such as petals or the bindu are found scattered across his canvases, and accentuate the spiritual, mystic charm of his works.
